Julian Casablancas is trying to find me.

The second line of his christmas song..he is reaching out to me...listen carfully now!

Rock &/or Roll for your ears &/or eyes

Okay folks and folkesses, I sit at a desk all day with the most inane computer program known to man and I want to burn it's binary eyes out. I maintain it was designed with the downfall of humanity (or at least the loss of mine) in mind. Skynet is real, people.

It even makes me get a little bored of music as I sit here for hours on end listening to whatever's on the 'pod, but the good thing about this is it makes me rummage through the vaguely sorted laundry basket of music that is my laptop and pick out a few things I haven't given due attention or simply not heard in an age, so here's a sample

Mansun - Six
Attack of the Grey Lantern is in my eyes one of the purest slices of pop gold to come out of Britain in the 90s. This massively ambitious follow up is like Mansun possessed with the spirit of the Wildhearts and writing songs about wanting to be a girl which for some reason I connect with more than may be deemed normal.

Black Mountain - In The Future
Their self-titled debut was a-rocking-and-a-rolling but it was in fact the acoustic number 'Stay Free' from this album that got me into them, yet I let this one sit on my harddrive like a bastard son. I am now paying it's child support by giving it heavy rotation. And it is for the most part a heavy rotation. Tasty.

White Rabbits - Fort Nightly
Got this from an awesome blog called Regnyouth which sadly no longer exists. They were meant to support TV on the Radio I believe and I listened to it once before going to the gig when I found out they were no longer playing and put it down. Like a fool. They're kinda like 90 Day Men if they cheered the fuck up.

David Bowie - Scary Monsters
What can I say, my absolute hero. Kinda like taking you're girlfriend for granted and realising what a dick you've been. I'm sorry, David, I won't ever let you down again.

Archie Bronson Outfit - Derdang Derdang
Pulling aces, plain and simple. Two guitars, a drumkit, a yelp and a Green Giant's handful of shitkicking riffs.

The Shins - Wincing the Night Away
Didn't appreciate this at the time because I wanted another Chutes Too Narrow. Bloody donut that I am. 'Phantom Limb' is pretty much perfect.

The Clash - Anything
Haven't been able to listen to them for a couple of months because of my ex. The reasons we got together were pretty much A) both half Italian, B) fans of coitus and C) gay for The Clash. But fuck her, I'm taking them back.

Girls Against Boys - You Can't Fight What You Can't See
What do you get when you cross two bass players with awesomeness? Girls Against Boys. That's what. Apart from Freakonica because that album was pretty shit. However this, their last offering, will grab your tongue and pour liquid amaze-o down your throat and out your ears.

Kasabian - West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum
Well, it's not that great but it has it's moments.

Sex Positions - Sex Positions
The single most underappreciated hardcore record ever made. This is The Shape of Punk to Come for the naughties.

And that's that.

Go dig 'em out and on 'em.

russian rouSHIT!

OK... so we had our comeback gig last night HEADLINING (let me make that clear that we were headlining) at Proud Galleries in Camden. Been working up to it and getting so excited we did many poo's collectivly. Turning up at 5pm to find we be the first band there. I will let Dave tell you his whole drumming various pissed off-ness.

So we have brought a massive crowd of troops to be enlightened by the newly reformed i hearts, new songs, new facial hair, the works. Suddenly we see were not on till 11:25pm...ok so not too bad, we apologoes to our friends but they are all still keen to stay.

Suddenly its 11:25pm and the 3rd band are just about to go on....UM WHAT!!?!?
The 'promoter' comes over to say "oh the music has to be cut off at 12, really sorry"

So we waited around for 7 hours to play a 10 minute set...fuck right off.....yes we told them to DO SOMETHING!...or DO ONE!

We finally went on at 11:50pm deciding ok, so we'll cut 'Coloured Glass' from the set.We had no time to breath or for the crowd to enjoy each song individually, we were basically all on speed stuffed with 20 duracell bunnies.
Then the soundman after 3 songs said ok that was the last one....thats right i told him to 'FUCK OFF!'....we played only another 2 songs of which my guitar and chris's mic was cut. Then the plug was pulled....

A 7 hour wait
5 song set
5 songs short, including 2 new ones.

compensation?...oh yes how kind, £50 and a lift in the back of a van...thanks mate, i got home at half 2!...stop apologising in a baby voice and stop touching me!

no kisses today!

SIXTO SIXTO

...i have an original vinyl from the late 60's of Rodriguez...this man is the latino Bob Dylan from Detroit...He is Legendary...apparently he has had legendary 'overused'.

He has a 1 off secret gig (not so secret now) at Union Chapel next wednesday...he is 67, and i want to see this. Amazing Song below....'Sugarman' x

BEHOLD THE NEW LINEUP IN ALL ITS GLORY

So basically, we havent had time to get some supercool group shots of us as a band doing moody and intense band type stares to convince people we are awesome and you should listen to us because were like, you know, in a band etc. I took upon myself to rise to this challenge and using my expert skills as a digital photo editor, I decided to create something to look as if we had all gathered together and captured our essence through the lens.

So as you can see, pretty awesome right?

Harry Rotter

That awful title is probably better than the following very bad wizard jokes.

I laughed out loud at one and instantly realised I didn't know what I was laughing at so promptly stopped.

Look at his credentials on the right though. Surely a man of this calibre should be able to write better wizard jokes.

Jeez.

This is so bad it's witch.

since i think we are the only ones who read our blog...this ones for you chaps.

wrong end of the stick!

oh you mambos kill me and kill me

You can't fuck with Phil Spector's wall of sound. You just can't. And of the many awesome things to be involved with the big crazy, the Walker Brothers, or namely Scott Walker is pulling aces.

Check this amazeathon out. The opening scene from Bronson set to the Scott penned 'The Electrician' (from the doomed '78 post-punk reactionary album Nite Flights).

No longer will I be silent, the time has come for me to approach from the shadows and reveal all

that is awesome, imagine being that guy seriously no one would ever fuck with you, you could drive away in other peoples cars, steal rare and endangered animals, punch whoever you wanted in the face and if anybody questions you just bring out the trusty quadruple neck and melt all their faces off until you were the last guy alive

Good day to you

Hi there.

I've already been introduced but allow me to introduce myself (right on, as a certain faithless bunch may have said).

I'm Andrew to my mum, but you may call me Roo/Manny/Sr. Sharpteeth/The Ghost That Walks/______ .

I have officially been an 'i heart' for about 2 weeks but I think the guys lost my receipt so you're stuck with me. Gutted.

I like guitars, girls and gin (in no particular order). I also like many more things that don't begin with the letter 'G'. But I was known as The Count in some circles due to my apparant resemblance to 'The Count' from sesame street. Go figure.

Regardless, today's blog is sponsored by the letter 'A' for aces/awesomeness/aperitif/and 'and'.

I think I've taken enough of your time and my lunch break is officially over so I shall drop the reigns and abandon this blogsled in an Action Hero Moviestar fashion.

Wow, did you see that? I totally did an amazing backflip off of the sled and onto a helicopter, then the sled flew into a barn and exploded.

Shame about the reindeers.

Roo x

(no reindeers were harmed in the writing of this blog)

Cece: my 2 new obsessions

Ok so of recent i have become obsessed and oh so slight;y aroused by 2 things...Firstly Lady Gaga....I have to say i was not a fan when she came out but then i saw this video

since then have got the fever and am even going to see her live for my birthday next year (thankyou shavonne)....her new video for Bad Romance is Aces

Secondly...Mince Pies, i have been making them every night since last Friday and can't stop, have tried Shortcrust,Puff Pastry and Filo, brandy and crumbled digestives......If only you could combine both gaga and the mince pies, it would be a very happy christmas.

Andrew Manuel Misuraca.

We have a new band member, decided on getting a bass player after much hesitation...but the fact that he sides himself next to Daniel day lewis....speaks for itself..ledge!

cece went to New York...this is what she saw

Writing and rehearsing

We're back and we're refreshed!

After the triumphant Scala show back at the beginning of August we had a bit of a break to re-charge our batteries and now we're ready to rock. Rehearsals have been great and three spanking new songs have emerged.

Expect more to evolve in the next few weeks as we sharpen up our act in time for the next show at the end of November.
